Euronews has announced the launch of Euronews Travel, a new channel focused exclusively on tourism and travel, as part of a strategic partnership with Media City Qatar. The initiative marks a significant expansion of the Euronews brand, aimed at diversifying content, unlocking new revenue streams, and reaching broader global audiences.
The channel will feature travel storytelling through vertical video formats, premium magazine-style programming, and new flagship productions, including Grand Voyageur. Euronews Travel will initially be available across the Euronews website, digital platforms, and YouTube, with a pilot phase beginning next week. Expansion to smart TV platforms will follow, ahead of a full rollout on paid television networks worldwide from February.
Jassim Mohamed al-Khouri, CEO of Media City Qatar, said the Doha-based launch reflects the strength of the five-year partnership with Euronews, which has focused on producing high-quality content across sectors such as travel, tourism, and health. He highlighted the success of Qatar 365, which attracted hundreds of thousands of viewers across social media and YouTube, as a foundation for the new channel.
Al-Khouri added that more than 300 companies are now registered with Media City Qatar, including major international media organisations, reinforcing Qatar’s ambition to position itself as a regional and global media hub.
Euronews CEO and Editor-in-Chief Klaus Strunz described Euronews Travel as a major global media initiative designed to showcase tourism opportunities and present destinations, including Doha, to international audiences. He emphasized that travel is an integral part of journalism, enabling audiences to make informed decisions through accurate and engaging storytelling.
