Orange MEA Secures Pan-African Mobile Broadcast Rights for CAF Africa Cup of Nations

Orange Middle East and Africa (MEA) has signed an agreement with the Confederation of African Football (CAF) granting it mobile-only broadcasting rights for the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations currently taking place in Morocco. The deal allows Orange MEA to stream a curated selection of 35 matches exclusively via its “Max it” super app.

The broadcast offering is available to active users in 13 Sub-Saharan African countries: Burkina Faso, Botswana, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, Guinea, Madagascar, Mali, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Liberia and Guinea-Bissau. The package includes all group-stage matches involving national teams from qualified Orange affiliates, along with selected knockout-stage fixtures.

According to Orange MEA, coverage spans the round of 16, quarter-finals, one semi-final, the third-place play-off, and the final. The initiative aligns with Orange’s mobile-first content strategy and its efforts to position Max it as a leading digital platform across Africa.

Orange MEA CEO Yasser Shaker said the agreement reinforces the company’s focus on delivering engaging digital experiences through mobile channels, while supporting fans’ passion for football across the continent. The TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations began on December 21 and runs through January 18, with Orange marking its 17th consecutive year as a tournament sponsor.
