VoPay establishes global headquarters in Qatar

VoPay International Inc., a global fintech infrastructure platform, has announced the establishment of its global headquarters in Qatar, positioning the country as the company’s primary hub for advancing digital financial infrastructure across high-growth regions including the Middle East and North Africa, Africa, and Southeast Asia, while continuing to serve markets in North America, Europe, and Latin America.

From its Doha base, VoPay will expand and operate core financial infrastructure supporting central banks, financial institutions, government entities, and large enterprises as they modernise financial systems and connect regional markets to global financial ecosystems. As part of the expansion, VoPay plans to hire more than 400 professionals in Qatar over the next three years across engineering, technology, security, compliance, data, and platform operations.

Hamed Arbabi, Founder and CEO of VoPay, said the decision reflects strong alignment with Qatar’s long-term vision for economic diversification and digital leadership. He noted that Qatar offers a strategic platform for scaling cross-border financial infrastructure, supported by Invest Qatar and the Qatar Financial Centre, enabling the company to build global talent and resilient, intelligent financial systems.

The move aligns with Qatar National Vision 2030, which focuses on developing a diversified, knowledge-based economy with global reach. VoPay said its Doha headquarters will act as a coordination centre for financial infrastructure initiatives supporting system modernisation across the Gulf region, MENA, Africa, and Southeast Asia.

Invest Qatar played a key role in supporting VoPay’s market entry and long-term growth strategy. Sheikh Ali Alwaleed Al-Thani, CEO of Invest Qatar, said the investment reinforces Qatar’s ambition to become a leading hub for advanced financial technologies through a supportive regulatory environment and strategic partnerships.

VoPay added that anchoring its global headquarters in Doha strengthens Qatar’s position as a trusted platform for cross-border financial coordination, interoperability, and institutional collaboration, while attracting global financial institutions, technology partners, and specialised talent.
