Lebanon and Jordan sign 21 Cooperation Agreements in Beirut

Lebanon and Jordan have signed 21 agreements and memoranda of understanding aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation across a broad range of sectors.

The agreements were concluded following the eighth session of the Lebanese-Jordanian Joint Higher Committee, held in Beirut and co-chaired by Lebanon’s Prime Minister Nawaf Salam and Jordan’s Prime Minister Jaafar Hassan.

The accords span economic, industrial, and investment cooperation, alongside consumer protection, digital transformation, and the exchange of expertise in tax administration. They also include initiatives supporting education, vocational training, academic collaboration, and youth empowerment.

Both sides agreed to expand cooperation in infrastructure and transport, with emphasis on railways, roads, bridges, and housing. Additional areas include local governance, civil defense, and social development.

Further agreements cover tourism, media, labour, and social security, as well as energy, electricity, gas, renewable energy, energy efficiency, and environmental protection. The package also addresses public administration modernization and civil service reform.

Officials said the agreements reflect a shared commitment to deepening bilateral ties and advancing sustainable development in line with the mutual interests of both countries.
