Luma AI, the generative AI company known for its multimodal video and reasoning models, is accelerating its global expansion following strong funding momentum and growing demand for advanced AI infrastructure.
Speaking at Web Summit Qatar, CEO and co-founder Amit Jain highlighted the company’s rapid growth, with its workforce expanding from around 30 employees in early 2025 to more than 160, explained by increasing adoption of its AI platforms. Luma’s flagship video generation platform, Dream Machine, gained one million users within four days of launch, while its reasoning video model Ray3 continues to evolve with ongoing updates.
The company is also expanding its international footprint, opening offices in London and Seattle, while strengthening partnerships in the Middle East. Luma is collaborating with Saudi AI firm HUMAIN on Project Halo, a large-scale AI infrastructure initiative expected to deliver up to two gigawatts of computing capacity by the early 2030s, alongside partners including NVIDIA and AMD.
Jain emphasized the importance of improving cultural representation in generative AI models, noting ongoing efforts to develop an Arabic-focused world model in partnership with regional stakeholders. He also highlighted the Middle East’s potential to become a major global hub for AI compute, citing advantages in energy availability, capital investment and infrastructure scale.
