Batelco by Beyon has announced the renewal of its strategic partnership with the Gulf Cooperation Council Interconnection Authority (GCCIA) during Capacity Middle East, reinforcing a shared commitment to advancing regional connectivity, infrastructure resilience, and digital integration across the GCC.
The renewed agreement was signed by Maitham Abdulla, CEO of Batelco by Beyon, and Ahmed Ali Al-Ebrahim, CEO of GCCIA, reflecting the continued alignment between both organizations in strengthening network reliability and supporting the region’s growing digital infrastructure requirements.
Under the renewed partnership, Batelco’s Bahrain Gulf Network (BGN), which operates over GCCIA’s terrestrial fiber optic systems, will continue to play a critical role in delivering secure, scalable, and resilient connectivity solutions. As a protected terrestrial network, the BGN functions as a key digital gateway linking GCC countries while interfacing with regional submarine cable systems to extend connectivity to international markets.
Maitham Abdulla noted that the partnership renewal highlights a shared focus on delivering world-class infrastructure and future-ready network capabilities, emphasizing Batelco’s commitment to supporting digital innovation and economic growth through robust and secure connectivity solutions.
Ahmed Ali Al-Ebrahim stated that the continued collaboration reflects both organizations’ dedication to strengthening regional connectivity and building a more resilient digital ecosystem, underscoring the importance of cross-border cooperation in accelerating digital transformation initiatives across the Gulf.
Spanning more than 1,400 km, Batelco’s BGN network enhances regional integration while reinforcing the GCC’s position as a strategic connectivity corridor linking regional and global digital markets.
