The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) of Oman has granted a license to Tahleeq Drone Services to oversee the registration and management of drone air traffic in the country. This licensing agreement is designed to improve air navigation safety and regulate drone operations within Omani airspace.
The agreement was officially signed during the International Civil Aviation Organization Security Week, alongside a high-level ministerial meeting held from December 9 to 12 in Muscat. Tahleeq’s drone air traffic management services will be provided through the Serb platform, which features a cutting-edge digital system designed to manage drone operations.
Initially, the platform will focus on registering amateur drone operators. It will streamline the registration process by enabling operator data submission, granting licenses following a successful test, and authorizing drone flights within designated safe zones, in coordination with military and security agencies.
This initiative aims to address the growing use of drones in Oman by accelerating permit issuance and simplifying registration procedures. Additionally, the platform will monitor drone operations to ensure security and prevent cyber threats. All data collected will be stored locally, using locally developed algorithms and software to ensure privacy and protection.
