IBM has officially opened its new office at Al Mana Tower in Doha’s Corniche area. The inauguration ceremony was attended by notable figures, including Mohammed bin Ali Al Mannai, Qatar’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology; Timmy Davis, the US Ambassador to Qatar; Shukri Eid, General Manager of IBM for the Gulf, Levant, and Pakistan; and Wissam Shmait, General Manager of IBM in Qatar, along with local clients and business partners.
The opening, which coincided with the Qatar Global AI Summit, highlights IBM’s strategic focus on expanding its footprint in Qatar, a market brimming with growth potential. With the Qatar National Vision 2030 and Digital Agenda 2030 driving the nation’s digital transformation, IBM aims to bolster local capabilities by offering innovative solutions and consulting services directly from Doha.
Sami Mohammed Al Shammari, Assistant Undersecretary for Infrastructure and Operations Affairs at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, emphasized, “We are excited to see IBM expand its presence in Qatar, contributing to our digital future. This is not just a commercial expansion, but a partnership that will empower various sectors with the latest technologies and digital solutions, opening new doors for public-private collaboration. We remain dedicated to strengthening our digital infrastructure to build a knowledge-based economy.”
