Morocco Launches First Sovereign Cloud Marketplace to Boost Digital Transformation

Atlas Cloud Services (ACS), a subsidiary of Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P), has introduced Morocco’s first sovereign cloud marketplace for local businesses. The announcement was made during the Move to Cloud event in Rabat on January 8.

Amal El Falah Seghrouchni, the Minister Delegate for Digital Transition and Administration Reform, attended the event and highlighted the crucial role of cloud technology in supporting AI development and driving digital innovation. She emphasized that research and innovation are foundational to a successful digital transition.

Experts and participants at the event exchanged ideas and best practices on digitization. According to UM6P, the new cloud marketplace is a significant milestone in supporting Moroccan businesses’ digital transformation by offering solutions tailored to their needs.

The platform was developed in collaboration with Casablanca-based Rkube, which specializes in AI and blockchain. It provides an online space for businesses to provision services, supporting ACS-developed solutions and those compatible with its ecosystem.

With a multi-cloud architecture, the platform offers Moroccan businesses simplified access to various technological services, including computing, storage, networking, AI, and IoT. Additionally, users can centralize the management of their cloud platforms, optimizing efficiency and reducing operational costs.
