The UAE Ministry of Economy has launched a National Digital Platform designed to track the prices of essential commodities across the country. This platform provides real-time data on staples such as oil, eggs, dairy, rice, sugar, poultry, legumes, bread, and wheat from various retailers.
The platform enables officials to monitor commodity prices, compare them against established price ceilings, and ensure compliance, helping maintain market stability and prevent price fluctuations. Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy, emphasized that the initiative supports the UAE’s commitment to consumer protection and a competitive economy, aligning with the nation’s “We the UAE 2031” vision.
This move reflects the UAE’s focus on utilizing digital solutions to enhance market transparency and stability, safeguarding both consumers and businesses. The platform will play a crucial role in ensuring the availability of affordable goods while supporting a resilient economy.
