Abu Dhabi-based BOLD Technologies, a subsidiary of BOLD Holding, has partnered with My Aion Inc. to develop AION SENTIA Cognitive City, a next-generation AI platform designed to manage and optimize complex urban systems globally. The ambitious initiative, valued at $2.5 billion under a Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) model, leverages My Aion’s proprietary AI core engine, MAIA, to integrate critical sectors including mobility, energy, education, healthcare, and digital services.
Currently in active development, AION SENTIA aims to deliver scalable smart infrastructure solutions starting in the UAE, with Abu Dhabi selected as the global headquarters for its progressive regulatory environment, strong cybersecurity standards, and thriving digital ecosystem. The platform uses advanced AI, sensor networks, and data analytics to enable intelligent urban operations aligned with the UAE’s digital transformation strategy.
The partnership launch event at Abu Dhabi’s Emirates Palace Hotel gathered over 100 key business and technology leaders, including representatives from Sequoia Capital, Adnoc, G42, Amazon, TikTok, and major government and public institutions—highlighting the strategic importance of the project for national innovation agendas.
Thani Al Thani Al Falasi, CEO of BOLD Technologies, highlighted the platform’s potential to generate UAE jobs, foster local innovation, and bolster the national AI ecosystem. My Aion CEO Daniele Marinelli expressed excitement over relocating global operations and 63 employees to Abu Dhabi, citing the UAE’s infrastructure and institutional support as key to scaling responsibly.
The collaboration also includes plans with UAE universities to launch AI and digital technology training and upskilling programs, strengthening the local talent pipeline.
