G42, OpenAI, Oracle, NVIDIA, SoftBank, and Cisco Launch Stargate UAE: A Landmark AI Infrastructure Cluster

In a historic collaboration, leading global technology firms G42, OpenAI, Oracle, NVIDIA, SoftBank Group, and Cisco have announced the creation of Stargate UAE, a next-generation artificial intelligence infrastructure cluster housed within the newly established 5-gigawatt UAE–U.S. AI Campus in Abu Dhabi.

Stargate UAE, a 1-gigawatt compute cluster, will be built by G42 and operated jointly by OpenAI and Oracle. Cisco will provide zero-trust security and AI-ready connectivity, while NVIDIA will supply its latest Grace Blackwell GB300 systems. SoftBank Group also plays a vital role in this transformative initiative.

The facility is designed to deliver nation-scale compute power, low-latency inferencing, and best-in-class infrastructure, enabling AI applications capable of driving innovation across sectors such as healthcare, energy, finance, and transportation. The first 200-megawatt AI cluster is slated to become operational in 2026.

Spanning 10 square miles, the UAE–U.S. AI Campus is the largest such AI infrastructure deployment outside the United States. It will offer 5 gigawatts of AI data center capacity, powered sustainably by nuclear, solar, and natural gas energy sources. The campus will also host a science park dedicated to innovation, talent development, and sustainable computing.

This initiative is a cornerstone of the recently unveiled US-UAE AI Acceleration Partnership, aimed at fostering secure, responsible AI development with global benefits. It builds on a framework promoting deeper cooperation between the two nations and aligns with the “America First Investment Policy,” which encourages UAE investments in US digital infrastructure projects like Stargate U.S.

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and former US President Donald J. Trump attended the announcement, symbolizing the high-level commitment behind this venture.

G42 Group CEO Peng Xiao remarked, “The launch of Stargate UAE marks a significant milestone in the UAE–U.S. AI partnership. We are proud to collaborate with institutions that share our vision for responsible innovation and meaningful global progress.”

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman emphasized the global ambition behind the project, stating, “By establishing the world’s first Stargate outside the US, we are transforming bold vision into reality, ensuring AI breakthroughs—such as safer medicines and personalized learning—emerge from diverse geographies to benefit humanity.”

Oracle CTO and Chairman Larry Ellison highlighted Stargate’s sovereign cloud capabilities, “This first-of-its-kind platform enables UAE government agencies and commercial enterprises to connect their data to the world’s most advanced AI models.”

NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang underlined AI’s transformative power: “With Stargate UAE, we’re building infrastructure that will empower the country’s vision, grow its economy, and shape its future.”

SoftBank Chairman Masayoshi Son expressed pride in supporting the UAE’s leap into sovereign AI infrastructure, “This global vision exemplifies how bold investments and trusted partnerships can build a more connected and empowered world.”
