Vodacom Group has announced the promotion of Mohamed Abdallah to Chief Executive Officer of Vodacom International Markets and Vodafone Egypt, marking a strategic step to streamline operations, drive growth, and enhance customer experience in line with the company’s Vision 2030 goals.
Mohamed Abdallah, who has led Vodafone Egypt as CEO and been with the company since 1998, will now oversee operations not only in Egypt but also in key African markets including the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Lesotho, Mozambique, and Tanzania. This expanded leadership role consolidates these markets under a unified framework to better execute Vodacom Group’s strategic priorities.
Under Mohamed’s leadership, Vodafone Egypt has experienced robust growth across consumer, business, and financial services sectors, solidifying its position as a market leader. He succeeds Diego Gutierrez, who stepped down after seven years of guiding Vodacom’s International Markets through significant transitions.
Vodacom Group CEO Shameel Joosub praised Mohamed’s proven commercial acumen and expressed confidence that his leadership will accelerate scaling efforts and embed Vodacom’s purpose-driven strategy throughout its international markets.
