The National Federation of Postal and Telecommunications Employees (FAPT), affiliated with France’s General Confederation of Labor (CGT), has publicly called out French telecom giant Orange over a labor dispute involving Teleperformance’s Moroccan subsidiary and its employees linked to the Moroccan Labor Union (UMT). In a letter obtained by Yabiladi, FAPT condemned the wrongful dismissal of three workers.
The dismissed employees were accused of entering a production floor on February 18, 2025, where over 250 staff work on behalf of Orange France, the contracting client. FAPT stressed Orange’s responsibility as the principal contractor to uphold fundamental labor rights throughout its supply chain, including partner companies.
Morocco’s National Federation of Call Centers and Offshoring Professions (FNCAMO – UMT) confirmed the dismissals lack legal justification under both national law and international labor standards.
FAPT has demanded Orange intervene with Teleperformance Morocco to reverse the dismissals, reinstate the workers immediately, restore their rights fully, and cancel disciplinary actions. Orange has yet to respond.
