DE-CIX has launched the first AWS Cloud On-Ramp at its Istanbul exchange, providing enterprises and network operators in Türkiye and neighboring regions with direct, secure, and low-latency access to Amazon Web Services (AWS). This local connection significantly reduces latency compared to traditional routes via distant hubs like Frankfurt.
The AWS Cloud On-Ramp offers enterprise-grade features including high-bandwidth connectivity, secure large-scale data transfers, and seamless hybrid cloud integration. It supports AI workloads, ensures regulatory compliance by avoiding public internet paths, and accelerates cloud migration, making it suitable for regulated industries and data-heavy applications.
On July 30, 2025, DE-CIX Istanbul set a new peak throughput record of over 500 Gbit/s, tripling traffic since 2020. Celebrating 10 years of operations, DE-CIX Istanbul has grown its connected networks by 18.5% in 2024 and exchanged 726 petabytes of data, an 11% increase year-on-year. The exchange continues to serve as a crucial digital bridge between Europe and the Middle East.
