The Board of Directors of Taly, a leading provider of digital payment solutions, has appointed Tawfik Mahmoud as the company’s new Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, effective August 2025. The move underscores Taly’s ambition to strengthen its competitive position and accelerate its expansion across Egypt and the wider region by offering advanced, integrated financial solutions.
In his first remarks, Mahmoud expressed pride in joining Taly, pledging to champion innovation, broaden partnerships, and enhance the company’s capabilities to deliver value for institutions and customers alike.
Founded in 2021 with an initial investment of EGP 650 million, Taly has become one of Egypt’s most prominent fintech firms. Its portfolio covers the full spectrum of digital payments, including electronic payment processing, POS systems, e-commerce payment gateways, card processing (debit, credit, prepaid), digital wallets, billing services, and merchant financing in collaboration with banking partners. The company also provides value-added services such as smart data analytics, business reporting, and loyalty programs, designed to enhance user experiences and enable smarter decision-making. Taly’s mission aligns closely with Egypt’s national strategy to expand financial inclusion and advance the shift toward a cashless economy.
Mahmoud brings more than 24 years of leadership experience in the fintech and payments industry across the Middle East and Africa. His career includes senior roles at Jumia Pay – Egypt, PayTabs – UAE, and Network International Group, where he drove market expansions across several Arab and African countries. Most recently, as Managing Director of Arab Financial Services – Egypt, he built the company’s presence locally, scaling electronic acceptance, digital strategies, and e-commerce solutions.
Renowned for his expertise in strategic growth, product innovation, and forging partnerships with both financial institutions and government entities, Mahmoud is also recognized for his strengths in organizational transformation and talent development. His appointment signals Taly’s intent to scale operations, strengthen market leadership, and continue innovating in Egypt’s rapidly evolving fintech ecosystem.
