Kingdee Opens Regional Headquarters in Qatar Free Zones to Drive Digital Innovation

Qatar Free Zones Authority (QFZ) and Kingdee International Software Group Company Limited have officially inaugurated Kingdee’s new regional headquarters at Ras Bufontas Free Zone in Doha. The launch marks the Chinese technology leader’s strategic entry into the Middle East, further establishing Qatar as a regional hub for investment, innovation, and emerging technologies.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by QFZ Acting COO Abdulla Hamad Al Binali, Kingdee Group President Jason Zhang, and senior representatives from public and private sectors. Alongside the launch, Kingdee and QFZ signed a strategic cooperation agreement to strengthen collaboration in developing advanced digital solutions, supporting Qatar’s innovation ecosystem, and conducting a feasibility study for an innovation center and ecosystem. The deal also includes efforts to encourage Kingdee’s partners and suppliers to set up in Qatar’s free zones while working with research and academic institutions to build local talent.

Founded in 1993, Kingdee is a global leader in enterprise management cloud SaaS, serving over 7.4 million customers across 172 countries. The company’s decision to base its regional headquarters in Qatar builds on its December 2023 partnership with the Qatar Investment Authority (QIA), which invested around QR728 million ($200 million) in Kingdee to support its regional expansion.

QFZ CEO Sheikh Mohammed Bin Hamad Bin Faisal Al Thani welcomed Kingdee, emphasizing the move as validation of Qatar’s ability to attract global pioneers in technology. Jason Zhang highlighted Qatar’s strategic location as an economic hub and crucial Belt and Road Initiative node, noting that Kingdee aims to “base in Qatar, radiate across the Gulf region, and go global.”
