Walton, Bangladesh’s leading electronics and technology brand, has achieved a historic milestone by exporting motherboards (PCBA) to the United States for use in sensitive security devices. This marks the first time Bangladeshi-made motherboards have been exported to the US, underscoring Walton’s growing footprint in the global technology market.
A ceremony to mark the occasion was held at Walton’s corporate office in Dhaka. Chief Guest Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb, special assistant to the Chief Adviser for the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications, and IT, described the development as a proud moment for the nation. ICT Division Secretary Shish Haider Chowdhury, Walton Hi-Tech Industries Chairman SM Shamsul Alam, Walton Digi-Tech Chairman SM Rezaul Alam, and other senior executives were also in attendance.
Walton confirmed that its initial shipment includes over 2,500 motherboards, valued at around Tk 2.5 million, supplied to Safepro Technologies Inc. of Wisconsin, USA. Safepro is known for its advanced security systems, widely used to safeguard schools, colleges, and other institutions across the US.
Officials highlighted that Walton already exports household electronics under the “Made in Bangladesh” tag to more than 50 countries worldwide. This latest achievement expands the brand’s global reach into critical hardware supply chains, particularly in security technology.
Speaking at the event, Taiyeb noted: “I am very excited that Bangladesh is exporting motherboards to the US, where there is Silicon Valley. Undoubtedly, this is a historic milestone for Walton and Bangladesh.” He added that the global PCB and PCBA market, currently worth $80 billion, is projected to grow by another $30 billion within the next five to six years, creating vast opportunities for Walton.
With this breakthrough, Walton has firmly positioned Bangladesh on the global hardware export map, boosting both the country’s tech ambitions and its role in advanced international supply chains.
