Amazon Opens First Fulfillment Centre in Abu Dhabi with ADIO

ABU DHABI — Amazon has launched its first fulfillment centre in Abu Dhabi, developed in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO), marking a major step in strengthening the UAE’s logistics and e-commerce ecosystem.

The new facility aims to reduce delivery times, expand product selection, and support the growth of retailers across the region, including small businesses and entrepreneurs.

Badr Al-Olama, Director General at ADIO, emphasized the centre’s role in advancing Abu Dhabi’s logistics and digital commerce infrastructure: “Through ADIO’s collaboration with Amazon, we are not only creating opportunities for SMEs, we are also strengthening the advanced logistics and digital commerce ecosystem in Abu Dhabi.”

Ronaldo Mouchawar, Vice President of Amazon Middle East, Africa, and Turkey, said the project reflects Amazon’s long-term commitment to the UAE: “We are leveraging Amazon’s expertise and technology capabilities to support the UAE’s digital economy while empowering local businesses with the tools and infrastructure they need to succeed online.”

Amazon also acknowledged the strategic support of Abu Dhabi Customs and KEZAD, noting their essential role in developing a world-class logistics hub that enhances Abu Dhabi’s position as a regional investment and trade destination.
