Algeria Launches New Technology Hub to Drive Digital Transformation

The National Investment Fund (NIIF) has unveiled a new technology hub in Algiers, inaugurated on September 15 as part of Algeria’s National Digital Transformation Strategy. The initiative marks a major milestone in the country’s efforts to accelerate digitalisation and position itself as a regional technology leader.

At the signing ceremony, NIIF General Manager Saleh Labbani formalised the partnership with four key industry leaders: Boumediene Senussi, General Manager of Optimum Telecom Algeria (Gezi); Boujemaa Awaroun, General Manager of IT-DEV; Falla Kawar, President and General Manager of INET; and Jalal Saidouni, General Manager of SMART TEST.

The hub is designed to pool expertise, infrastructure, and resources, with a strong focus on advancing digitalisation in critical sectors, particularly finance. By fostering collaboration between public and private stakeholders, it aims to strengthen Algeria’s digital ecosystem and support innovation-led economic growth.

Officials highlighted that the initiative is closely tied to Algeria’s broader vision of modernising state institutions, boosting competitiveness, and reinforcing its role as a key player in the regional digital economy.
