Côte d’Ivoire Secures $95M UAE Funding to Drive Digital Transformation

Côte d’Ivoire has obtained a $95 million commitment from the United Arab Emirates to fast-track its digital transformation, according to the Ivorian Press Agency. A letter of intent is expected by mid-October, with disbursement of funds planned before the end of the year.

The financing package will cover the construction of a modular data center and sovereign cloud, the establishment of an AI and innovation center of excellence, and modernization of the Integrated Management System for Civil Servants and State Agents (SIGFAE) with AI-enabled features. These projects are designed to strengthen public services and enhance human resource management.

Officials emphasized that this initiative aligns with Côte d’Ivoire’s broader digital ambitions, which include improving governance, nurturing youth innovation, and positioning the country as a leading hub for technology and digital services in West Africa. The agreement also highlights growing cooperation between Abidjan and Abu Dhabi in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and advanced technologies.

Côte d’Ivoire’s partnership with the UAE is expected to accelerate the nation’s digital economy and reinforce its regional leadership in tech-driven governance.
