Egypt Inks 55 ICT MoUs to Drive Digital Expansion and Job Creation

Egypt’s Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly oversaw the signing of 55 memoranda of understanding (MoUs) between the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) and a host of global and local companies, marking a major milestone in the country’s digital transformation agenda. The deals, signed during the Global Offshoring Summit, are expected to create 70,000 new jobs in Egypt’s ICT sector.

ICT Minister Amr Talaat highlighted that the initiative aligns with the Digital Egypt strategy, which aims to position the nation as a global outsourcing and technology hub. Supported by $6 billion in infrastructure investments, Egypt has extended high-speed fiber to over 4,500 villages and now ranks among Africa’s top markets for internet speed and affordability.

Talaat added that the ICT sector’s growth—three to four times faster than the national average—reflects Egypt’s competitive edge in digital services and talent development. Nearly one million citizens are trained annually in digital skills, boosting Egypt’s global appeal for investors.

The new agreements involve industry giants like IBM, Ericsson, Capgemini, Teleperformance, Deloitte, and HSBC, with 39 companies expanding their local operations and 16 entering the market for the first time. The move reaffirms Egypt’s status as one of the fastest-growing digital economies in the MENA region.
