Morocco Aims for 70% 5G Coverage by 2030 Under Digital Morocco Strategy

Morocco has set an ambitious target to extend 5G network coverage to 70% of its population by 2030 as part of the national “Digital Morocco 2030” strategy. Minister Delegate for Digital Transition and Administrative Reform Amal Fallah Seghrouchni highlighted the plan during a parliamentary session, describing 5G rollout as a new phase in the country’s digital evolution and a strategic step toward becoming a regional telecom hub.

Seghrouchni confirmed that 5G services are already active in 60 cities with no price increases for consumers. Operators have expanded data bundles from 30 GB to 50 GB at no additional cost, ensuring broader accessibility. The digital strategy also aims to expand fiber-optic coverage to 5.6 million households by 2030 and connect 6,300 public administration sites by 2026. A recently adopted decree mandates fiber-ready infrastructure in all new housing projects to further accelerate national connectivity.
