Ericsson boosts ICT collaboration with Egypt

Ericsson has signed a three-year memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Egypt’s Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) to deepen cooperation and accelerate the development of Egypt’s ICT and digital services sectors. The partnership directly supports the Digital Egypt Strategy for Offshoring Industry 2022–2026, which aims to triple the country’s offshoring export revenues and expand high-value digital employment.

The MoU establishes a joint framework to enhance key technology areas—including engineering, R&D, business process management, and knowledge-based services—while positioning Egypt as a global hub for advanced digital capabilities such as AI and data analytics. The agreement is part of a wider government initiative involving 55 international and local companies expanding their investments in Egypt’s offshoring sector.

Minister of Communications and Information Technology Dr. Amr Talaat said Egypt’s skilled talent pool, strong digital infrastructure, and strategic geography make it an ideal destination for delivering world-class digital services. The partnership will also focus on digital skills development through training programmes, employment fairs, university collaborations, and industry events that support Egyptian youth and graduates.

Ericsson and ITIDA have previously worked together on seminars and capacity-building initiatives in emerging technology fields, and this expanded collaboration is expected to further strengthen Egypt’s competitiveness as a trusted global digital services partner.
