flydubai teams up with Starlink to revolutionize inflight connectivity

flydubai has announced a landmark partnership with SpaceX’s Starlink to bring ultra-fast, low-latency inflight internet to its passengers starting in 2026. Revealed at the Dubai Airshow 2025, the agreement marks a major leap in the airline’s efforts to merge innovation with enhanced customer experience.

Starlink’s advanced satellite network will be installed across flydubai’s Boeing 737 fleet, with 100 aircraft set to receive the upgrade next year. The service will deliver uninterrupted broadband suitable for streaming, video calls, online gaming and real-time digital services—transforming flights into fully connected, productive environments.

CEO Ghaith Al Ghaith said the partnership reflects flydubai’s commitment to meeting the expectations of modern travellers, noting that reliable inflight connectivity is now essential. Chad Gibbs, VP of Starlink Business Operations at SpaceX, added that Starlink aims to deliver inflight speeds that match or exceed home internet performance.

The installation process will be fast and efficient, enabling most of the fleet to be fully connected by 2026. Daniel Kerrison, Senior VP of Inflight Operations, highlighted that high-speed, free Wi-Fi will also empower cabin crew with real-time data to enhance service delivery.

With this move, flydubai joins a growing group of global airlines adopting next-generation inflight Wi-Fi, strengthening its competitive edge in comfort, convenience and digital innovation for both leisure and business travellers.
