The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (MTCIT) has officially opened registration for the Hadatha Sectorial Hackathon, a national initiative focused on strengthening cybersecurity and technical innovation within Oman’s telecommunications sector. The event invites cybersecurity experts, developers, entrepreneurs and startups to design advanced solutions that enhance data protection, reinforce digital infrastructure and support the country’s broader digital transformation efforts.
As part of Oman’s national strategy to develop a secure and resilient digital ecosystem, the hackathon aims to bring together top technical talent to address emerging cyber threats affecting critical industries. Participants will collaborate to create scalable, real-world products and services that promote reliance on local technologies and contribute to a sustainable digital economy.
The hackathon also serves as a platform for Omani innovators to showcase their expertise, exchange ideas and help build a stronger cyber ecosystem. To ensure high-quality participation, MTCIT requires applicants to register in teams of two to four members, commit to the full 12-hour program, and maintain professional and ethical standards throughout the event.
Registration is now open via the ministry’s portal: https://cert.gov.om/hackathon
