4iG TO BECOME ANCHOR INVESTOR IN AXIOM SPACE

The transaction marks a milestone in Hungarian–U.S. space industry relations and reinforces 4iG’s position in the global commercial space sector.

▪ 4iG Space and Defence Zrt. (4iG SDT) signed a definitive investment agreement with Axiom Space Inc. (Axiom Space), one of the leading privately owned companies in the U.S. commercial space industry.

▪ Under the agreement, 4iG SDT commits to a two-step investment in Axiom Space totaling USD 100 million — USD 30 million by December 31, 2025, and USD 70 million by March 31, 2026.

▪ The agreement represents a historic step in space research and industry cooperation between Hungary and the United States. This is the first time a Hungarian company is investing in a U.S. space firm, playing a direct role in the global space research ecosystem and the development of commercial space infrastructure in low Earth orbit (LEO).

▪ The investment will help ensure a long-term presence in the global commercial space sector and establishes direct links for 4iG Space and Defence to the space-based data economy, as well as industrial and R&D programs conducted in microgravity environments.

▪ The transaction aligns with 4iG Group’s strategy to become a leading international player in space and defence technologies, while supporting Axiom Space’s global growth and strengthening its leadership position in the U.S. commercial space industry.

4iG Space and Defence Technologies joins Axiom Space’s development and growth plans as an investor, the capital market company announced on the Budapest Stock Exchange website. As part of the transaction, 4iG’s space and defence holding company commits to a two-step investment totaling USD 100 million. The first phase of USD 30 million is expected by December 31, 2025, followed by a second phase of USD 70 million by March 31, 2026. The agreement becomes effective upon completion of the first investment tranche.

The partnership is of historic significance for Hungarian–U.S. space research and industry cooperation, creating long-term opportunities to expand participation in the global space market.

“This collaboration is of historic significance for the Hungarian space industry, as it marks the first time a Hungarian company participates as an owner of a U.S. space player. Axiom Space is working on revolutionary technological solutions that are fundamentally transforming the commercial space sector and shaping developments for decades to come. This investment reflects Hungary’s leadership in the space ecosystem and the strong ties between Hungary and the United States,” said Gellért Jászai, Chairman of the Board, 4iG.

“We’re excited to welcome 4iG Space and Defence as an investor in Axiom Space at such a pivotal moment for commercial space. This investment aligns with a forward-thinking European technology company that shares our vision for commercial space infrastructure. Together, we are building the foundation for a truly global space economy while deepening ties between the United States and Hungary,” said Dr. Kam Ghaffarian, Executive Chairman of Axiom Space.

Houston-based Axiom Space is a leading global player in commercial human spaceflight and space infrastructure development. The company has extensive experience conducting crewed missions aboard the International Space Station and is developing Axiom Station, the world’s first commercial space station. Its activities span microgravity research, orbital data communication, and processing solutions.

Axiom Space is also responsible for sending the second Hungarian astronaut, Tibor Kapu, into space as part of the HUNOR – Hungarian to Orbit – program, marking a milestone in Hungary’s human spaceflight ambitions.
