Huawei Deploys Smart Campus Network at Balqa Applied University to Support Digital Education

Huawei has deployed a next-generation smart campus network at Balqa Applied University (BAU) in Jordan, strengthening the university’s digital infrastructure as it expands academic and medical education facilities. The project was designed to support BAU’s growing multi-campus environment and the launch of its new Faculty of Medicine, which required high-performance, secure, and scalable connectivity.

Balqa Applied University, one of Jordan’s leading public institutions for applied sciences, engineering, and medical education, faced increasing network demands due to rapid expansion and geographically distributed campuses. Prior to the deployment, limited Wi-Fi coverage, inconsistent performance, and challenges in centralized management affected learning quality and operational efficiency.

To address these issues, Huawei implemented an integrated switching and Wi-Fi solution tailored for the Faculty of Medicine. Huawei’s switching infrastructure now serves as the backbone of the network, enabling fast and reliable connectivity across classrooms, laboratories, administrative offices, and core university systems. Complementing this, Huawei’s Wi-Fi solution provides full building-wide coverage and supports high-density usage, ensuring uninterrupted access for students and faculty during peak academic activity.

The solution was deployed during the construction phase of the new medical faculty and implemented at full scale without requiring custom integrations. Huawei worked closely with BAU’s IT and procurement teams, enabling a streamlined rollout and immediate operational readiness. In parallel, Huawei also delivered switching solutions across the wider university network, strengthening security and supporting BAU’s broader digital ecosystem.

Following deployment, BAU reported significant improvements in network stability, speed, and user experience. The upgraded infrastructure now supports hybrid learning, digital medical content, and seamless communication across departments. The university has also established a strong foundation for future initiatives, including SD-WAN, advanced storage systems, and the expansion of smart campus services across all sites.
