A transformational year for Ooredoo Kuwait as 2025 redefines its role in shaping the nation’s digital future

Ooredoo Kuwait said 2025 marked a strategic turning point, positioning the company beyond traditional telecom operations and framing its role as a national partner supporting Kuwait Vision 2035 through digital infrastructure, innovation, and a technology-enabled creative economy.

Senior Director of External Affairs and Strategic Projects Nouf AlMashaan said the year’s progress was built on long-term national partnerships rather than standalone initiatives, adding that Ooredoo Kuwait now sees itself as “a national partner” shaping an integrated digital future that empowers individuals, improves services, strengthens sustainability, and treats digital infrastructure as a pillar of national development.

A central highlight was the continued expansion of Platform 51, which Ooredoo Kuwait described as a national hub for Kuwaiti digital and cultural content. The company said partnerships—particularly with the media and the Ministry of Information—were critical in establishing and enriching the platform, presenting it as a model for integrating technology with locally produced content and enabling Kuwaiti talent.

In major public-private collaborations, Ooredoo Kuwait signed an agreement with Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) focused on innovation, development, and digital media services. The partnership includes leveraging Platform 51 to showcase KOC achievements and produce creative digital content reflecting national identity and expanding institutional reach.

Ooredoo Kuwait also announced a national partnership with Kuwait Airways to integrate Platform 51 into in-flight entertainment systems across the airline’s fleet, aiming to take Kuwaiti content to global audiences and reinforce the international presence of national media and culture.

The company also highlighted its role in flagship events, including “Beyond Borders” in partnership with the Saud N. Al-Sabah Kuwait Diplomatic Institute under the patronage of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, positioning connectivity as a tool for “digital diplomacy.” It also played a central role in MoneyTech Summit 2025, which focused on fintech, AI, big data, venture capital, and advanced computing. During the summit, Ooredoo Kuwait announced an advanced data centre powered by NVIDIA technologies to support AI-driven digital capabilities.

On network development, Ooredoo Kuwait said it continued investments in digital infrastructure and worked with CITRA to advance 5G Advanced, while also pursuing partnerships to improve customer experience through digital channels and ecosystem-driven benefits. The company said its consumer focus in 2025 went beyond coverage and quality to redesigning the user journey, strengthening service integration, and connecting connectivity to everyday lifestyle services.

For enterprises, Ooredoo Kuwait positioned itself as an enabler of institutional digital transformation, offering integrated solutions including secure networking, cloud services, IoT, fleet management, and data solutions for SMEs, large organisations, and critical sectors.

The company also emphasised sustainability, local content, and human capital as core pillars. It said it invested in talent development, fostered innovation culture internally, and pursued community and education initiatives, treating sustainability as a guiding framework for operational and technology decisions.

Ooredoo Kuwait reported broad recognition in 2025 through multiple regional and international awards. Highlights included two wins at the Asian Telecom Awards 2025 (Telecom Company of the Year and Best Human Resources Initiative), selection of its Autonomous Networks Level 4 initiative by TM Forum, HR recognition at the HRM Summit & Awards 2025 (Employer of Choice and Best Employee Benefits Package), and Best Inspiring Workplace in MENA. The company also cited 11 wins at the Stevie Awards 2025 across innovation, sustainability, and telecom technology categories, including Gold Stevie Award for Company of the Year (IT – Telecommunications).

Ooredoo Kuwait said its 2025 achievements reinforce a broader shift from being a telecom service provider to acting as a strategic national partner delivering digital transformation through infrastructure investment, content platforms, enterprise solutions, sustainability, and human capital development.
