INDUSTRIALIEGCO showcases 4 locally manufactured machines for the first time at Grain Tech Egypt

Integrated Engineering Group (IEGCO) is participating in the 25th edition of Grain Tech Egypt by unveiling four machines manufactured locally for the first time, offering Egypt’s first domestically produced solutions in specialised categories for variable data printing on consumer goods, particularly production and expiration dates. The initiative is aimed at strengthening local manufacturing and reducing reliance on imports.

Eng. Khaled Ibrahim, Chief Executive Officer of IEGCO, said the company’s presence at this year’s exhibition features four machines produced inside Egypt for the first time, delivering advanced variable data printing solutions across a wide range of products.

He explained that the showcased lineup includes HR (High Resolution), Tij1800-Mini Plus, Tij1800-A200 Single & Double Head, and DP2000 Large Characters. These models address diverse requirements across the food and consumer goods sectors while meeting technical standards for both domestic and international markets.

Export deals with five countries

Ibrahim said IEGCO’s participation in the exhibition resulted in export contracts with companies in Libya, Iraq, the United Arab Emirates, Nigeria, and Saudi Arabia.

Eng. Hamdy Abdel Fattah, General Manager of IEGCO, noted that the local development and manufacturing of these machines forms part of a broader strategy to meet domestic demand and reduce Egypt’s annual import bill of around EGP 2.5 billion, which covers machines, inks, and spare parts used for printing production and expiration dates.

He added that exports currently account for about 10% of total sales, with plans to increase this share to 30% within two years.

Abdel Fattah attributed this growth outlook to IEGCO’s expansion strategy across African markets, which import nearly $3 billion annually in production and expiration date printing equipment, creating significant opportunities to scale Egyptian exports across the continent.

The 25th edition of Grain Tech Egypt was inaugurated by Dr. Sherif Farouk, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, and ran from January 19 to 21, with wide participation from local and international companies.

The exhibition serves as an international platform for localising grain industry technologies and promoting knowledge exchange across milling, storage, silos, animal feed, bakeries, and packaging.

This year’s event hosts 93 companies, including 35 Egyptian and 58 foreign firms representing around 125 countries, reinforcing its position as one of the region’s leading specialised industry exhibitions.
