Zarea signs strategic MoU with Chinese agri-platform company

Zarea Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Wang Chuang Xi Jun Chang Agri Ltd, a Chinese agri-platform company, to explore advanced agricultural solutions in Pakistan, according to a notification filed with the Pakistan Stock Exchange.

The MoU includes an initial commitment of $2 million as part of a long-term collaboration and was signed during the Pak-China Investment Conference in Islamabad.

Zarea’s chief executive said the partnership aims to strengthen Pakistan–China ties, positioning Zarea as a platform for technology transfer and cross-border agricultural trade. The collaboration will focus on assessing the introduction of advanced seed technologies, technology-enabled agronomic and farm services, structured labour and grower management, and a scalable production system.

The company said the partnership is designed to enhance agricultural productivity, improve supply-chain efficiency and traceability, and modernise Pakistan’s agri-value chain. It will also seek to facilitate international market exposure, technical knowledge transfer, and potential export linkages for local growers and agribusiness stakeholders in both countries.

Zarea added that the initiative aligns with its long-term strategy to build a technology-enabled, integrated agricultural ecosystem and is expected to strengthen its positioning in the agri-commodities segment.
