University of Dubai and AIJRF to launch the sixth edition of the Artificial Intelligence Journalism World Forum (6th AIJWF) in April 2026

The Artificial Intelligence Journalism for Research and Forecasting Foundation (AIJRF), in collaboration with the University of Dubai, has announced the launch of the sixth edition of the Artificial Intelligence Journalism World Forum (AIJWF), the world’s first annual conference dedicated to artificial intelligence journalism. The two-day event will take place on April 6–7, 2026, at the University of Dubai under the theme “AI and Digital Content Flow: Powering the Global Digital Economy and Governing AI-Driven Content.”

The forum comes at a time of rapid global expansion in AI adoption across digital economy sectors. H.E. Dr. Eesa Mohammed Bastaki, President of the University of Dubai, noted that while AI has significantly boosted company valuations and innovation worldwide, professional and ethical governance frameworks have yet to mature at the same pace. He highlighted the UAE’s position as the region’s largest AI investor, supported by global partnerships that are strengthening its role as a leading destination for AI development in the Middle East.

AIJRF CEO H.E. Dr. Mohamed Abdulzaher emphasized that AI-driven digital content has become a central pillar of the global economy, shaping business models, consumer behavior, and market dynamics. He noted that global digital content volumes have increased more than tenfold since pre-2020 levels, driven largely by AI tools that automate and scale content creation and distribution. This growth, he warned, has also intensified challenges around misinformation, fake content, and governance.

The 6th AIJWF will address these issues through key themes including AI’s role in entrepreneurship and investment, governance and ethical responsibilities, regulatory gaps, and the urgent need to combat AI-driven misinformation. Panel discussions will explore trust, transparency, accountability, and the use of AI for social good and sustainable digital growth.

Launched in 2020, AIJWF brings together academics, journalists, AI developers, policymakers, and institutions worldwide. The forum operates under AIJRF, a UAE-based global think tank that also oversees initiatives such as the Global Artificial Intelligence Journalism Index and publishes professional and ethical frameworks for AI-driven content creation.

The sixth edition of AIJWF aims to position AI journalism at the center of global conversations on innovation, governance, and the future of the digital content economy.
