Pakistan and Saudi Arabia discussed strengthening investment cooperation and expanding collaboration in technology and talent development during meetings held on the sidelines of the AlUla Conference for Emerging Market Economies 2026.
Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, met with Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Economy and Planning, Faisal bin Fadhil Alibrahim, where both sides reviewed progress on Saudi investment initiatives in Pakistan and explored opportunities to deepen bilateral economic cooperation. Discussions also focused on leveraging Pakistan’s growing pool of artificial intelligence and technology talent to support Saudi Arabia’s ongoing digital and economic transformation.
Saudi officials highlighted the strong global reputation of Pakistani technology professionals and expressed interest in utilizing this talent to support the Kingdom’s innovation and development priorities. In response, Pakistan outlined plans to establish structured talent pipelines for international markets, including Saudi Arabia, aimed at generating mutual economic benefits.
The meeting also touched on broader regional economic cooperation, including progress on the GCC Free Trade Agreement and the importance of expanding trade and economic exchanges between the two countries.
