Nepal Telecommunications Authority Revokes Licenses of Two Internet Service Providers

The Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA) has revoked the licenses of two internet service providers (ISPs): C Data Communication in Birgunj and Life Net in Surkhet.

The NTA canceled the license of C Data Communication for failing to operate services in accordance with the established terms, effective October 18. This ISP had received its internet service operating license from the NTA on February 2, 2020.

Similarly, the NTA revoked Life Net’s license due to the company’s failure to initiate any renewal process. Life Net was granted permission by the NTA to operate internet services on September 16, 2019. Although the license was valid until September 14, 2024, the NTA acted because the company did not submit an application for renewal.

Additionally, the NTA has instructed Life Net to make the necessary payments within the next 30 days, as mandated by regulations.
