Edge, a prominent advanced technology and defense group, has signed a Cooperation Agreement with Baykar, Turkey’s leading unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) and AI technology company, during the SAHA Expo 2024. The agreement was formalized by Hamad Al Marar, Managing Director and CEO of Edge, and Haluk Bayraktar, CEO of Baykar.
This partnership aims to strengthen collaboration, enhance capabilities, and expand market presence for both companies. The focus of the agreement will be on integrating Edge’s guided munitions and payloads onto Baykar’s advanced unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) platforms, with Baykar leading the integration process. Edge will provide technical support, including the design, manufacturing, and maintenance of the necessary equipment for successful integration. This initiative is set to meet market demand efficiently while ensuring supply chain security and delivering high-performance solutions to customers.
Al Marar expressed that this agreement marks a significant milestone in their ongoing collaboration. He noted, “By integrating our advanced solutions onto Baykar’s proven UAS platforms, we can quickly respond to evolving market demands while further enhancing the capabilities we offer our customers. This partnership highlights the strategic importance of collaborating with established Turkish companies and leveraging its robust defense ecosystem. Together, we are committed to delivering cutting-edge technology with agility, efficiency, and innovation, while ensuring secure and resilient supply chains.”
Bayraktar emphasized the importance of the agreement, stating, “Today, alongside the CEO of Edge, one of the largest defense organizations in the UAE and ranked among the top 30 globally, we signed a pact to integrate Edge-developed smart munitions into our platforms and establish joint cooperation. The UAE and Turkey have significantly strengthened their defense relations in recent years, with the UAE being Turkey’s largest trade partner in the Middle East. I extend my gratitude for this agreement and hope it contributes to the independence and security of both nations.”
