Oracle Partners with Tamkeen to Establish Engineering Center in Bahrain

In a major advancement for Bahrain’s technology sector, Oracle has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Labour Fund, Tamkeen, to establish an Oracle Engineering Center in the kingdom. The announcement was made during the Gateway Gulf Forum 2024, which convened top government officials, business leaders, and executives from around the world.

The new center is expected to play a crucial role in developing local IT talent by providing specialized training and Oracle certifications. These programs are aimed at addressing the growing regional demand for Oracle Cloud services and supporting Bahrain’s goal of becoming a tech innovation hub in the Gulf.

Her Excellency Ms. Maha Abdulhameed Mofeez, CEO of Tamkeen, emphasized that the initiative aligns with Tamkeen’s 2024 strategy. “We are dedicated to equipping national talent with the skills needed to meet the demands of the expanding Information Technology sector, ensuring their competitiveness both locally and globally,” she stated.

Nick Redshaw, Oracle’s Senior VP for Tech Cloud in the Middle East and Africa, noted that the programs would strengthen the Oracle partner ecosystem in Bahrain and provide a cutting-edge learning platform for local students.

This partnership represents a significant milestone for Bahrain, positioning the country as a key hub for regional technology investment and innovation while fostering sustainable economic growth through an empowered local workforce.
