Omani Satellite Manufacturer Spazers Partners with Southern Cross Space for Advanced Satellite Solutions

MUSCAT: Omani satellite manufacturing joint venture Spazers has signed an agreement with Australian space science company Southern Cross Space. This collaboration will allow Spazers to utilize advanced technologies from Southern Cross Space to deliver high-resolution satellite imagery and analytical solutions.

Tariq al Bulushi, Founder and CEO of Spazers, highlighted the importance of this strategic partnership, stating, “We are excited about this collaboration with Southern Cross Space. It will enable us to provide integrated solutions for our customers, from obtaining high-resolution satellite imagery to analyzing it with the latest artificial intelligence technologies.”

Peter Kinne, Co-founder and CEO of Southern Cross Space, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, saying, “We are pleased to cooperate with Spazers to provide these advanced services to customers in the region. We are confident that this partnership will contribute to the development of the space sector in the region.”

The launch of Spazers was announced earlier this year during the 1st Middle East Space Conference in Muscat Governorate. The company plans to offer satellite manufacturing and space launch services and is a multinational joint venture between Omani ETCO Space, Polish satellite manufacturer SatRev, and Polish tech company Tuatara. This consortium was responsible for the successful launch of Oman’s first satellite, Aman-1.

This agreement supports Oman’s ambition to become a regional and global hub for space activities, aligning with government plans to enhance the digital economy. Currently contributing 2% to the local GDP, the goal is to increase this figure to 5% by 2030 and 10% by 2040.

Last year, the Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology introduced the National Space Policy and Executive Programme, a 10-year framework aimed at expanding the sector.
