In a significant move to enhance fibre optic technology adoption, the Fibre Connect Council MENA (FCC MENA) and the FTTH Council Europe have signed a collaboration agreement. Announced during the FTTH Conference 2024 in Berlin, this partnership aims to synergize the efforts of both organizations in promoting and advancing fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) networks in the MENA region and beyond.
The agreement underscores a shared commitment to accelerating the deployment and utilization of FTTH networks. By combining resources, expertise, and networks, the two councils intend to drive innovation, promote best practices, and address common challenges in the FTTH infrastructure sector.
Raf Meersman, President of the FTTH Council Europe, highlighted the benefits of this partnership, noting it will enhance resource sharing and collaboration, thereby facilitating greater networking and knowledge exchange opportunities between members from Europe and the MENA region.
As part of their collaboration, FCC MENA and FTTH Council Europe will engage in joint initiatives, knowledge exchange programs, and advocacy efforts. This strategic alliance is expected to open up new opportunities and cater to the evolving needs of their members in the rapidly changing landscape of fibre optic communications.
