Positive Technologies, a leading global cybersecurity solutions provider, has signed a distribution agreement with Mideast Communication Systems (MCS), a prominent IT and cybersecurity provider based in Cairo. This partnership aims to address the growing cybersecurity challenges in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Africa by jointly promoting cybersecurity products and services.
Cyberattacks have been rising globally, with a particularly sharp increase in the Middle East, where incidents tripled in Q1 2024 compared to 2023. In Africa, 70% of cyberattacks targeted sectors such as public services, finance, industry, and telecommunications. Positive Technologies’ collaboration with MCS seeks to combat these rising threats by leveraging MCS’s extensive experience and local presence in the region.
MCS, with over 18 years in cybersecurity, is focused on supporting Egypt’s digital transformation and expanding its presence across Africa. Tarek Shabaka, CEO of MCS, expressed confidence that the partnership will enhance the region’s cyber resilience. Ilya Leonov, Regional Director for MENA at Positive Technologies, emphasized that MCS’s experience with public sector and financial institutions aligns well with the goals of the collaboration, as these sectors are frequently targeted in cyberattacks.
The partnership will focus on industrial safety, DevSecOps, red team services, and ATM security assessments. With MCS operating in 10 countries in East and Central Africa, the collaboration aims to build a high level of cybersecurity resilience and support regional growth.
Positive Technologies has over 4,000 global customers, and the company continues to expand its footprint in the Middle East and Africa. This partnership highlights its commitment to helping organizations safeguard themselves from the increasing threat of cyberattacks.
