EdVentures and the Mastercard Foundation launched the EdTech Fellowship to support innovation and expand access to education in Egypt. The program has successfully impacted 147,200 learners, empowered youth and women, and created jobs. Eleven startups received equity-free investment to scale their operations and drive Egypt’s EdTech transformation.
Eyouth has partnered with EDT& Partners to train one million youth in Africa and the Middle East in digital skills, including AI, programming, and data analysis. Backed by a $6 million investment, the programme aims to close the digital skills gap and drive innovation across the region, launching in February 2025.
EdVentures, the corporate venture capital arm of Nahdet Misr Publishing Group, has invested in Egyptian ed-tech startups Schoolz and Ibn Sina Training Academy. This brings EdVentures’ portfolio to 24 startups, supporting innovation in student transportation and specialized medical training, further strengthening its position in the MENA ed-tech sector.
This year’s conference, held under the theme “Directing Technology in Education,” is a significant gathering aimed at fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing among key players in the education sector.
Akhdar, the largest Arabic platform for educational content, has joined forces with Value Maker Studio (VMS) to enhance educational outreach and support tech startups in their expansion into the Saudi market. Akhdar offers a wide array of educational materials in Arabic, accessible in under 15 minutes, and is used by over 1.5 million users globally. VMS’s “Bridge Program” is set to aid Egyptian startups to navigate and penetrate the Saudi marketplace with a robust support system, starting January 2024.
