SOHAR Port and Freezone launched a specialized training program focused on Port Community Systems (PCS), aiming to enhance Oman’s logistics digitalization. In partnership with IPCSA, the initiative offers training on design, governance, and implementation of integrated PCS solutions, contributing to Oman’s vision of a smarter supply chain.
Oman has signed 18 investment agreements worth over RO100 million to strengthen its logistics sector and boost its position as a regional trade hub. The agreements cover areas such as ports, airports, transportation, and warehousing, incorporating smart technologies to enhance operational efficiency and foster economic growth in line with Oman Vision 2040.
Oman’s transport and logistics sector is projected to contribute RO14bn to the economy by 2040, becoming the second-largest economic contributor after hydrocarbons. With a focus on infrastructure, sustainability, and digital transformation, the sector will create up to 300,000 jobs and unlock investment opportunities, supporting Oman’s Vision 2040 goals.
