The Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST) invites the public to vote for Saudi projects in the ITU WSIS Prizes 2025, supporting national initiatives in 18 categories. Saudi Arabia has introduced a mandatory USB Type-C charging standard for mobile phones and electronic devices, effective from January 1, 2024. This initiative aims to reduce costs, improve data transfer, and promote sustainability by reducing electronic waste. Laptops will be included in the second phase, starting in 2026.
