In a recent virtual lecture hosted by the Bahrain Center for Strategic, International and Energy Studies (Derasat), the Mohammed Bin Rashid Library team in Dubai showcased the significant role of artificial intelligence (AI) in enhancing library operations and services. The session, part of Derasat’s Think Talks series, was moderated by Mrs. Eman Ebrahim Abdul-Qader, a Library and Archives Specialist at Derasat, and featured insights from Senior Library Officers Ms. Muna Tawfiq Klaib, Ms. Alya Alhebsi, and Ms. Maryam Juma.
During the presentation, the team highlighted how AI technologies have been pivotal in expanding access to information and learning resources, improving user experiences, and streamlining library operations. Key AI applications discussed included automated cataloguing, predictive analytics for determining user preferences, and virtual assistance tools.
This collaboration between the Mohammed Bin Rashid Library and the Derasat Center not only underscores the ongoing commitment to technological advancement in library services but also sets a precedent for future discourse on the integration of AI within educational and cultural institutions.
