UNDP Bahrain and Derasat Collaborate on National Human Development Report Focused on Digital Transformation

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Bahrain has signed a project document with the Bahrain Center for Strategic, International, and Energy Studies (Derasat) to develop the Kingdom’s National Human Development Report (NHDR). This report will focus on advancing digital transformation as a strategic tool for harnessing digital innovation to promote inclusive growth, in line with Bahrain Vision 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The forthcoming NHDR, titled “Digital Transformation: A Roadmap for Progress,” will provide a comprehensive analysis of how digital transformation can enhance human development in Bahrain. It will address critical issues such as the digital divide, privacy, cybersecurity, and the integration of digital technologies into public services. The report will also explore the opportunities that digital transformation offers for social and economic development, as well as the challenges that accompany these advancements.

In addition to evaluating Bahrain’s digital landscape, the report will benchmark the Kingdom’s progress against regional and international standards, offering actionable insights and recommendations to improve digital inclusion, protect privacy, and secure digital infrastructures for a more resilient society.

UNDP’s partnership with Derasat, along with collaboration from various stakeholders including government entities, civil society organizations, and the private sector, ensures that the NHDR reflects a wide range of perspectives and aligns with Bahrain’s national development goals. This initiative aims to lay the groundwork for policies and strategies that incorporate digital technologies to support inclusive and sustainable growth throughout Bahrain.

UNDP Bahrain is dedicated to promoting digital transformation that empowers communities and guarantees equal access to technology and opportunities for all citizens and residents. As they collaborate with Derasat, the Kingdom of Bahrain, and other partners, they look forward to making significant strides toward a digitally inclusive society.
