STZA and Telenor Pakistan Sign MoU to Foster Innovation and Empower Youth in Pakistan’s Digital Future

The Special Technology Zones Authority (STZA) and Telenor Pakistan have entered into a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at accelerating innovation, promoting digital inclusion, and empowering youth across Pakistan. This strategic partnership will bolster Pakistan’s technology sector by nurturing young talent, supporting local technology companies, and enhancing the country’s digital infrastructure, in alignment with STZA’s mandate.

The MoU was signed by Aamer Saleemi, Executive Director of Zones & Zones Developer/Member at STZA, and Areej Khan, Chief People Officer at Telenor Pakistan, during a ceremony attended by leaders from both organizations, including Khurrum Ashfaque, CEO of Telenor Pakistan, and Hamza Saeed Orakzai, Chief Market Development Officer at STZA, among others.

Through this partnership, STZA will collaborate with various stakeholders to expand youth initiatives within Special Technology Zones (STZs), advocate for the development of policies in emerging technologies such as agritech, edtech, and fintech, and promote skill development initiatives. The goal is to connect local innovators with global networks and provide them with the tools they need to succeed.

In parallel, Telenor Pakistan will leverage its Telenor Velocity platform to support technology companies and launch youth development programs, including innovation challenges and hackathons. These initiatives aim to nurture the next generation of digital leaders, providing them with opportunities to enhance their skills and contribute to Pakistan’s digital transformation.
