Nepal Telecom (NTC) has ensured reliable internet connectivity at the Tribhuvan International Cricket Ground (TU Cricket Ground) in Kirtipur, the venue for the Nepal Premier League (NPL) matches. To facilitate smooth operations during the event, NTC has installed two 1 Gbps Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) connections and small cells for 4G data coverage.
The 1 Gbps gigabit fiber connection will be used to support the Media Center for the NPL T20 tournament, which kicks off on November 30. At the request of the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN), NTC provided the high-speed connection to ensure smooth broadcasting and operations. In addition, small cells are being deployed to provide uninterrupted 4G connectivity to spectators, avoiding network congestion due to the expected high volume of visitors.
The small cells will ensure users experience high-speed 4G throughout the stadium, which can accommodate up to 20,000 people. These small cells are essential as they act as low-powered base stations designed to handle large crowds in densely populated areas, ensuring mobile users stay connected.
NTC is also involved in the NPL as the telecom partner for Sudurpashchim Royals, one of the participating teams. Additionally, NTC has launched an “Ntc Cricket Dhamaka Pack” to help users follow the NPL matches and live scores.
With the NPL matches expected to attract full-capacity crowds, NTC’s installation of FTTH and small cells ensures seamless connectivity for match-related programs and mobile internet usage. The event will run from November 30 to December 21, with NTC providing dedicated internet services for all attendees at the TU Cricket Ground.
