On the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, observed annually on December 3rd, Orange Jordan continued its support for raising awareness about the rights of persons with disabilities. In collaboration with the Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (HCD), Orange changed its network name to “Inclusion” from December 3rd to December 10th, reinforcing its commitment to a more inclusive society.
Through this initiative, Orange aims to raise awareness about the rights of persons with disabilities and emphasize their inclusion in all activities and programs, ensuring their effective participation in society. This initiative aligns with preparations for the Global Disability Summit (GDS) to be held in 2025, presided over by His Majesty King Abdullah II, the German Chancellor, and the International Disability Alliance.
Orange Jordan highlighted that empowering persons with disabilities begins with changing stereotypes and laying the foundation for equal opportunities. Every step, the company believes, contributes to building a more inclusive society. Since 2019, Orange has been implementing a series of programs under the umbrella “Differently Abled, Definitely Enabled,” and has praised its long-standing partnership with the HCD in launching initiatives aimed at creating a society that celebrates diversity and equal opportunities.
As part of its corporate social responsibility strategy, Orange Jordan continues to provide systematic support to persons with disabilities, both internally and externally. This includes initiatives such as launching the Digital Inclusion Catalogue in all Orange showrooms and attracting persons with disabilities to participate in programs at Orange Digital Centers (ODC) across Jordan’s governorates.
The International Day of Persons with Disabilities, first launched by the United Nations in 1992, this year focuses on expanding programs to include all persons with disabilities and develop their leadership potential.
