Zong 4G Partners with Alkhidmat Foundation to Provide Healthcare in Underserved Sindh Communities

Zong 4G, Pakistan’s leading telecom operator, has reaffirmed its commitment to corporate social responsibility by addressing critical healthcare challenges in underserved communities. The company’s Sustainability Team recently visited Kotri Jamshoro to observe the operations of a mobile health unit launched in collaboration with the Alkhidmat Foundation.

This initiative aims to provide free healthcare services to remote areas in Sindh, offering vital medical assistance such as consultations and medications. The program has already made a significant impact, benefiting over 3,000 individuals who often face challenges accessing hospitals or affording medical treatment. The mobile health unit has helped bridge this healthcare gap, delivering essential care directly to these communities.

During their visit, Zong’s team spoke with residents who shared how the initiative has transformed their lives. The mobile unit has been providing general check-ups for common ailments like fever and body pain, as well as follow-ups for chronic conditions, becoming a crucial lifeline for many in the region.

Dr. Syed Tabassum Jaffri, President of Alkhidmat Foundation Sindh, emphasized the urgent need for healthcare in these areas, stating, “At Alkhidmat Foundation, we are committed to breaking barriers to healthcare access. Our Mobile Health Unit, in partnership with Zong, brings vital services to underserved communities, creating lasting change.”

Andleeb Aslam, Deputy Director of Communications and Sustainability at Zong 4G, reiterated the company’s commitment to bridging the healthcare gap: “Access to healthcare is an issue that must be addressed. While we can’t reach everyone, we are doing what we can through this partnership with Alkhidmat. This initiative is a step toward a healthier, more equitable future.”

By tackling inadequate healthcare access in remote Sindh, this program is setting the foundation for long-term improvements in community health. Over time, the initiative can reduce untreated illnesses, promote healthier lives, and enhance the productivity of local communities. It also serves as a model that can be replicated in other underserved regions to amplify its impact.
