A pioneering Health and Wellness Digital Toolkit aimed at improving the well-being of the Ready-Made Garment (RMG) workforce was officially launched on Thursday at the BGMEA Head Office in Uttara, Dhaka. The initiative, led by AYAT Education in collaboration with the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), the John C. Martin Foundation, and Integral Global, is designed to promote healthier lifestyles and boost productivity among RMG workers.
The toolkit offers easy access to health information via mobile devices, making it convenient for factory management to implement health awareness programs. It is tailored to provide technical support to help management effectively promote health initiatives within their facilities.
Md. Anwar Hossain, Administrator of BGMEA and Vice-Chairman of the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), was the chief guest at the launch event. He stressed the importance of collaborative efforts in prioritizing worker health and wellness within the garment industry. “BGMEA is committed to improving the health, safety, and overall well-being of workers. This digital toolkit, focused on the health of the RMG workforce, is a timely and innovative initiative that will enhance both industry productivity and worker well-being,” Hossain said.
Nusrat Feroz Aman, CEO of AYAT Education, highlighted the initiative’s impact, stating, “This project will raise health awareness, increase productivity, and reduce absenteeism, ultimately creating a safer, more sustainable workforce.”
Sharif Zahir, Managing Director of Ananta Group and a member of BGMEA’s support committee, expressed his optimism about the initiative’s positive impact, noting, “With our work in mobile apps, I believe this initiative by AYAT Education will bring significant progress to the RMG sector.”
Nabil Ahmed, Founder and Director of Integral Global, emphasized the long-term benefits of the toolkit. “Access to health resources is a fundamental human right. This toolkit will serve as a sustainable resource for the RMG sector, providing both workers and management with essential tools to improve well-being, productivity, and resilience,” Ahmed said. “This partnership will benefit thousands and support sustainable growth in the industry.”
