Groundbreaking Health and Wellness Digital Toolkit Launched for RMG Workers in Bangladesh

A new Health and Wellness Digital Toolkit, designed to improve the well-being and productivity of the Ready-Made Garment (RMG) workforce in Bangladesh, was officially launched at the BGMEA Head Office in Uttara, Dhaka, on Thursday. This initiative, led by AYAT Education in collaboration with the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), the John C. Martin Foundation, and Integral Global, aims to promote healthier lifestyles and boost productivity among RMG workers.

The digital toolkit, which is easily accessible via mobile devices, provides workers with health information and offers technical support to factory management for implementing health awareness programs.

Md. Anwar Hossain, Administrator of BGMEA and Vice-Chairman of the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), attended the event as the chief guest. He emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts to prioritize health and wellness in the garment sector, stating, “BGMEA is dedicated to promoting the health, safety, and overall well-being of workers. This digital toolkit, focusing on the health of the ready-made garment workforce, represents an innovative initiative that will improve both the industry and the well-being of its workers, resulting in a healthier workforce and increased productivity.”

Nusrat Feroz Aman, CEO of AYAT Education, underscored the significance of providing workers with the knowledge and resources they need to maintain their health. She added, “This initiative will improve health awareness, enhance productivity, and reduce absenteeism, contributing to a safer and more sustainable workforce.”

Sharif Zahir, Managing Director of Ananta Group and member of BGMEA’s support committee, expressed optimism about the initiative’s potential impact, saying, “Since we are also working with apps, I believe this initiative by AYAT Education will bring significant progress to the ready-made garment sector.”

Nabil Ahmed, Founder and Director of Integral Global, highlighted the long-term benefits of the toolkit, saying, “Access to health resources is a fundamental human right. This toolkit will serve as a sustainable resource for the RMG sector, equipping both workers and management with essential health tools that will enhance well-being, productivity, and resilience. This partnership will benefit thousands and support the sustainable growth of the industry.”
